Support Subscriptions

Subscriptions- let us take care of everything. Simply give us a call whenever you need help and we'll talk you through it over the phone. We'll take care of your servers, workstations, and any other networking equipment you wish.

Network Upgrades

NT and Server 2000 Upgrades- if you are not using Server 2003 already, you'll need to consider your upgrade options carefully. Chief among your concerns should be the capabilities of the group you choose to perform the task. We've been managing servers of all types for over ten years and our computer experience dates back to 1982 with the Commodore (CBM) PET (not to be confused with the personal computers they later made).

Email allows us
to give a thoughtful response and possibly include some information from our library of previous responses given for comparable problems.

We read your emails carefully to be sure your problem is understood precisely. Links to other resources we know about on the Internet are often included, especially if there are helpful graphics. We try not send replies that lack substance or are all links. We have no set limit of the number of email replies for any particular problem and we check for emails often doing our best to reply promptly.

We guarantee to:
  • successfully diagnose the problem,
  • provide instructions for what needs doing,
  • supply the information required to complete the task,
  • or give you our best advice to resolution.

Our usual guarantee is to find the cause of the problem or there's no charge, we reserve the right to give up without charging you for the time already spent if the task is deemed to difficult to resolve. We hate the idea of stopping but sometimes we run out of ideas, there may be some sort of communication difficulty, or the problem moves into an area beyond our expertise.

The Helpdesk Service is an attempt to expand the boundaries of what can be achieved by remote trouble-shooting but some problems still lie outside these capabilities. There are times when a computer acts so oddly that you'll never really be able to trust it again and there's no solution except to reinstall the operating system.

Phone Support

Free Computer Help- You are welcome to email us with your computer problem and we'll email you our diagnosis and advice on how to solve it for free. There's no gimmick - except that we don't promise anything. It is however unlikely you'll get a better, more knowledgeable, or straighter answer anywhere else.

More information is better- don't forget to tell us what operating system you're using. Tip: Click on the Start button in the left corner of the screen and the operating system is written vertically on the left of the pop-up Start Menu - if nothing is there you have Windows XP. Try to include all relevant details.

One or two follow-up emails are fine but, after that; if none of our advice has worked that is as far as we can go. Please send your follow up emails as Forwards of the last email to you so we can be reminded of the status of your issue. If we're on the right track but you need more than written advice to go any further to your solution you may consider upgrading to one of our paid support options.

We appreciate a final email, when your problem's fixed, telling us if our advice worked or what else had to be done to fix it - this helps us learn and improve our service.
